West Linn Community Chorus

Choral music from the heart of West Linn, Oregon
Our Mission Statement
The mission of the West Linn Community Chorus is to share the joy of music and enrich the community through quality choral performance.

What is the West Linn Community Chorus?
The West Linn Community Chorus provides an opportunity for singers of all levels from West Linn and surrounding communities to experience and share the joy of music. The chorus challenges singers to grow through practice and performance and to bring quality music to audiences of all ages. The chorus is sponsored by the West Linn Arts Commission in cooperation with the West Linn Parks and Recreation Department.

What does the chorus sing?
The chorus emphasizes four-part harmony in a variety of musical styles that are fun to sing and hear – show tunes, folk songs, patriotic music, jazz, pop, Americana, and more. Since being founded in the summer of 2001, the chorus has sung everything from the Beach Boys to selections from Handel’s Messiah.

What is the director’s musical background?
As owner and co-founder of Vivace Voices, Ltd. (a professional entertainment company here in Portland), Tina Paradiso conducts their premier, a cappella holiday ensemble, The Fireside Carolers. Recently Tina completed a short run of Sunday Night at the Bus Stop Cafe Musical Revue for Mt. Hood Repertory Theatre. Other local credits include G Four's production of Menopause, the Musical at Portland Center for the Performing Arts and a staged-reading of Sylvia at the Old Church for Portland Civic Theatre Guild. In addition, Ms. Paradiso has starred or been featured in numerous regional theater productions, toured nationally in Les Miserables and Fiddler on the Roof, and has sung in concert in Australia, Canada and the West Coast from Southern California to Seattle, Washington. Tina received her Bachelors Degree both in Vocal Performance and in education from CSU at Chico. She holds three credentials in music education and choral directing.

Where and how often does the chorus perform?
Each season (fall and spring) culminates in two concerts. The chorus also performs several additional concerts at community events. The chorus has performed at the Grotto Festival of Lights in Portland and at Marylhurst University with the Marylhurst Symphony, among other locations.

Can I invite the chorus to perform at my community event?
Yes!  As a community chorus, we are available to sing at selected community events. Email the Membership Director with details for your performance request or mail it to PO Box 187, West Linn, Oregon 97068.

How is the chorus run?
The chorus is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization run by a board of directors whose members are selected at an annual meeting. The board’s monthly meetings are open to all members.
